Privacy Policy
Chanslatre provides multilingual digital menus, QR-based restaurant experiences, restaurant account tools, analytics, and related services. This Privacy Policy explains the types of information we may collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices available to restaurant clients, their representatives, website visitors, and diners who use Chanslatre-powered menus.
1. Information We Collect
Restaurant and account information
When a restaurant, restaurant representative, salesperson, contractor, or other authorized user creates or uses an account or communicates with us, we may collect information such as name, email address, telephone number, restaurant name, restaurant address, business information, account credentials, service plan, restaurant assignments, and communications with Chanslatre.
Menu and service information
We may collect and store menu files, menu text, translations, pricing, options, dietary or allergen information supplied by the restaurant, restaurant images, update requests, QR configuration information, service preferences, and other materials needed to create, maintain, and support a restaurant's Chanslatre services.
Diner and website usage information
When someone visits our website or uses a Chanslatre-powered menu, we may automatically receive technical and usage information such as IP address, browser and device type, date and time of access, pages or menu screens viewed, selected language, QR entry source, restaurant identifier, table or QR-source identifier when applicable, and interactions with menu features.
Menu interaction information may include actions such as adding, removing, or re-adding menu items, quantities selected, options or variants selected, use of the “Show Server” feature, and related event timestamps. This information is used primarily to operate the service and provide restaurants with usage and performance insights.
Order-summary information
Chanslatre may temporarily store information selected in “My Order” or similar features in the user's browser or device so that the feature can function. When a user chooses to show an order summary, Chanslatre may record service-related event information such as the restaurant, selected items, quantities, options, language, QR source or table identifier when applicable, and the time of the interaction. Unless expressly stated otherwise in the applicable service, using “Show Server” does not itself submit an order to the restaurant or process a payment.
Payment information
If paid services, deposits, or subscriptions are processed through a third-party payment provider, that provider may collect payment-card and billing information under its own privacy practices. Chanslatre may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, amount, date, and related records, but we do not intend to directly store full payment-card numbers or card security codes on Chanslatre systems.
2. Cookies, Local Storage, and Similar Technologies
Chanslatre may use browser cookies, local storage, session storage, server logs, and similar technologies to keep features working, remember preferences, maintain sessions, preserve temporary menu or “My Order” selections, reduce repetitive notices, understand usage, detect abuse, and improve the service.
Some information may remain on a device until it expires, is cleared by the user, or is replaced by newer information. Browser settings may allow users to clear or restrict certain storage technologies, although doing so may cause some Chanslatre features to stop working as intended.
3. How We Use Information
We may use information to:
- create, translate, publish, maintain, and update restaurant menus;
- operate QR-based menu access, “My Order,” “Show Server,” analytics, and related restaurant features;
- create and administer restaurant, client, sales, and administrative accounts;
- process service requests, subscriptions, deposits, payments, refunds, and account changes;
- provide customer support and communicate about the service;
- measure menu usage and provide participating restaurants with analytics and operational insights;
- diagnose technical problems, maintain security, prevent fraud or abuse, and protect Chanslatre, restaurants, diners, and others;
- improve and develop Chanslatre products and services;
- maintain business, accounting, audit, and legal records; and
- comply with applicable law and enforce our agreements and policies.
4. Analytics Provided to Restaurants
Participating restaurants may receive analytics concerning use of their own Chanslatre-powered menu. Depending on the services enabled, these analytics may include information such as visits, selected menu language, QR source, table identifier, menu-item interactions, items added or removed, and use of order-summary features.
We generally intend these analytics to help restaurants understand how their own menus and Chanslatre services are being used. We do not intend restaurant analytics to provide restaurants with diners' payment-card information or to identify a diner by name unless the diner separately provides identifying information through another feature.
5. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information in the following circumstances:
- Participating restaurants. We may provide a restaurant with information and analytics relating to use of that restaurant's Chanslatre services.
- Service providers. We may provide information to companies or contractors that help us with hosting, infrastructure, payment processing, email, security, analytics, technical support, file storage, and other business operations, to the extent reasonably necessary for them to perform services for us.
- Legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when we reasonably believe disclosure is required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or is appropriate to protect rights, property, security, or safety.
- Business transactions. Information may be transferred or disclosed in connection with a merger, financing, acquisition, sale of assets, restructuring, or similar business transaction, subject to applicable law.
- With consent or direction. We may disclose information when a user or restaurant directs us to do so or otherwise provides consent.
Chanslatre does not currently sell personal information for monetary payment. If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide any notices or choices required by applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy. Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and may also reflect legitimate business, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, contractual, dispute-resolution, and legal requirements.
For example, temporary browser-based menu selections may expire or be cleared sooner than restaurant account, agreement, transaction, analytics, or audit records. When information is no longer reasonably needed, we may delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it, subject to technical and legal limitations.
7. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no website, database, network, or method of electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Restaurant clients and authorized users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their login credentials and for promptly notifying Chanslatre if they believe an account has been compromised.
8. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with you. Certain information may need to be retained for legal, security, accounting, contractual, or operational reasons.
You may opt out of non-essential marketing communications by using an unsubscribe mechanism when provided or by contacting us. Service-related or transactional communications may still be sent when necessary to operate an account or provide requested services.
To make a privacy request, contact us using the information in the “Contact Us” section below. We may need to verify the request before taking action.
9. Third-Party Services and Links
Chanslatre may rely on or link to third-party websites, payment providers, hosting providers, email providers, mapping services, or other services. Their handling of information is governed by their own terms and privacy policies when they independently collect or process information. Chanslatre is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites that we do not control.
10. Children's Privacy
Chanslatre is a general-audience service intended to support restaurants and diners and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children under 13 through the service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 in circumstances requiring deletion, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to Chanslatre, please contact us.
11. United States Operations
Chanslatre operates from the United States. If you access the service from another jurisdiction, information may be processed and stored in the United States or other locations where our service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Chanslatre develops, adds new features, changes service providers, or responds to legal or operational requirements. When we make changes, we will post the updated Policy and revise the effective date above. If required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent for material changes.
